Senedd history

The National Assembly for Wales Senedd and The Pierhead at Cardiff Bay. 

The Senedd, which was opened in 2006, is situated in a prime position on the waterfront in Cardiff Bay. It houses Senedd Cymru’s Siambr (debating chamber) and Committee Rooms.

Key environmental features



The design team adopted an holistic approach, which yielded an environmental design that uses natural ventilation and passive systems to heat and cool the building.
