Over the last month, the Outreach team has conducted 18 focus groups with schools and organisations across Wales on the issue of attendance and behaviour. Children and young people from the ages of 9 to 21 years discussed their experiences and the issues they believed were most important when considering attendance and behaviour in schools, such as the structure and content of lessons, bullying and the provisions available to pupils, in addition to the need to further involve young people in the school decision-making process. Elizabeth Stokes, the Learning 4 Life Manager at Llamau gave her thanks to the Outreach team and service users by saying that they gave “thoughtful and considered responses, providing invaluable insight for the researchers”. Llamau Learning 4 Life Focus Group, Cardiff The Children and Young People Committee would like to thank all of the participants, schools and organisations who contributed to this inquiry.
