Finance Committee - Fourth Assembly

Legacy Report

Legacy Report

At the end of every Assembly, committees look back on the work they’ve done over the previous five years, and think about the advice they want to leave for the next committee.

They are a useful source of information for new committees, the Members who serve on them and for anyone who takes an interest in their work. They can help all of us to understand what has happened in the past, and the forces that will influence what happens next.

This was a committee of the Fourth Assembly (2011 - 2016). Current committees can be found at https://senedd.wales/committees

The Committee was established on 22 June 2011. The Finance Committee’s role was to carry out the functions set out in Standing Order 19. This included consideration of the use of resources by the Assembly Commission or Welsh Ministers, and in particular reporting during the annual budget round. The Committee also considered any other matter relating to expenditure from the Welsh Consolidated Fund.

The Finance Committee’s remit also included specific statutory powers under the Public Audit (Wales) Act 2013 relating to responsibilities for governance oversight of the Wales Audit Office.
