Key Interests and achievements
Service Before Self, Community Leader, Former RAFAC Officer,
Charity Trustee, Governance
Personal history
I am a community-focused leader guided by a clear ethos of
“service before self.” My experience as a former RAFAC Officer and as a Charity
Trustee has shaped my commitment to public service, youth development, and
strong, responsible governance. I believe in practical leadership — listening
first, working collaboratively, and turning ideas into real-world action. I
place a high value on accountability, transparency, and the careful stewardship
of resources, always seeking balanced, constructive solutions that benefit the
wider community. I am motivated by strengthening local civic life, supporting
community initiatives, and helping create places where people feel proud to
live, work, and belong.
Professional background
I have spent more than 30 years volunteering in the Cadet
Forces, including in a senior leadership role with responsibility for around
2,000 cadets and adult volunteers. Over that time, I worked closely with young
people and volunteers, including through the challenges of the COVID period.
Alongside this, I built a career in administration, operations, and data
management across both the public and private sectors. I have worked with NHS
Employers and in prison education, helping to deliver programmes, manage
performance, and keep complex services running effectively.
