Personal history
Born in Bromley and raised in Skegness, Paul studied Physics
at Kingston University before beginning a career in IT. Paul “came home” to
Cardiff in 1997, moving to his fathers’ homeland for a job at the encouragement
of his wife. That job was at Cardiff University, where Paul worked for most of
his career. Before entering the Senedd, he worked as an independent IT consultant. Paul and his wife have lived
in Cardiff for nearly three decades, and are thankful to have raised their two
adult children in the city. Paul is a Christian, and is an active member of his
local church. Paul is a keen outdoorsman, championing activities including
hiking, cycling and rock climbing.
Political history
Paul has a long record of involvement in community life in
Llandaff North and across Cardiff. In 2022, he was the Green candidate for the
Llandaff North ward of Cardiff Council. Paul has served as a primary school
governor and a trade union representative, and has supported a range of local
projects aimed at strengthening community resilience and sustainability.
Priorities
Paul is committed to building a fairer, greener and more
sustainable Wales, with a particular interest in climate action and improving
public transport. He is passionate about listening to local residents,
supporting grassroots community groups and ensuring that people across Caerdydd
Ffynnon Taf have a strong voice in the Senedd.
