An idea for a law which could further protect older people’s rights in Wales has been drawn in the latest Llywydd legislative ballot.
The proposal has been suggested by Darren Millar AM and was chosen at random from a list of 25 suggestions from Assembly Members.
The announcement was made by the Llywydd, Elin Jones AM,
during Plenary at the Senedd on Wednesday, 14 November 2018.
The Member will now have until 23 January 2019 to put their suggestion before the full Assembly for a debate and vote and whether or not it can become a Bill and proceed through the law-making process.
Llywydd ballots are an opportunity for Assembly Members who are not part of the government to bring forward legislation.
The last ballot led to the introduction of the Autism Bill by Paul Davies AM which is currently being considered by the Assembly.
