Members of the University of the Third Age (U3A) in Swansea visited the National Assembly for Wales in Cardiff Bay to engage with the work of the Assembly.

U3A is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment. It provides educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment.

The visit to the Senedd was arranged following a presentation delivered by the National Assembly's Outreach Manager, Kevin Davies, in Swansea University in October.

Members from U3A Swansea watched the Public Accounts Committee meeting, met with regional Assembly Member for South Wales West Bethan Jenkins AM, before receiving a tour of the Senedd and watching Assembly Members debate and quiz Welsh Government Ministers, including the First Minister Carwyn Jones AM.

Eluned Evans, Treasurer at Swansea U3A said:

"Swansea U3A members found that the day was very informative, and gave us a better understanding of the work of the Welsh Assembly".
