Meet Lloyd Warburton, a 6th former at Ysgol Penglais in Aberystwyth. He spent his time during lockdown establishing www.coronaviruscymru.wales, a website with the latest information on Covid-19.

The website has played an in important role in recording the latest figures on the virus in Wales.

Keyston Young Farmers’ Club

Keyston YFC led by, Eleri George ran the community response to Covid-19 and have helped the community on over 120 occasions. They have also held a fundraising walk raising over £2,700 for hospital patients in Pembrokeshire.

Ffion is a well known and loved actress from Llanelli, who’s videos impersonating different TV and film characters cheered many people up during lockdown.

During the pandemic, graffiti artist Steve added a splash of colour across Llanelli. With superman style NHS logos, portraits of famed alumni and images of hope, Steve’s art has brightened everyone's days.

By growing sunflowers from seed and leaving them outside for people to help themselves and set up a free book exchange on her garden wall (with a little help from her parents) Celyn of The Little Sunflower Library brought joy to her community and raised money for food banks and the Wales Air Ambulance.

“Always cheerful, helpful and efficient Del is a ray of sunshine and a true community champion.”

In Rhayader, many older and vulnerable residents say that they might not have gotten through Covid-19 without Del. Del has provided support to them via telephone, and helped with shopping, and collecting prescriptions.

Kirsty Williams YVC Foodbank

Ystradgynlais Volunteer Centre

These volunteers had a foodbank up and running at Ystradgynlais Volunteer Centre within a week of national lockdown, and through dedication and organisation have been easing difficult times for people in the area ever since.

Kelvyn led the re-opening of the British Legion building in Hay-on-Wye as a community hub, from which a successful foodbank operates which is hugely beneficial for local people, especially the most vulnerable.
