To propose that the National Assembly for Wales, in accordance with Standing Order 10.3, elects Angela Burns (Conservative) in place of Alun Cairns (Conservative) as a member of the Proposed Healthy Eating in Schools Measure Committee.

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales, in accordance with Standing Order 22.50:

Agrees that Peter Black may lay a proposed Order, to give effect to the outline proposed Order provided on 14 February 2008 under Standing Order 22.48, and an Explanatory Memorandum.

To Propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

Notes with concern that between 1997 and 2006 Wales achieved the lowest economic growth of any nation or region in the UK.

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

1 Notes with concern:

a) that the number of repossession orders in Wales has increased by 26% since 2007

b) that higher mortgage rates, the credit crunch and spiralling consumner debt may lead to further increases in the number of repossessions in Wales.  

2 Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to help reduce the number of potential repossessions by supporting:

a) debt advice and mortgage rescue schemes; and

b) the development of a protocol that would require a court to be satisfied that lenders and borrowers had taken the relevant steps before possession was awarded.

To propose that the Assembly resolves to adopt the following amendments to motions:

Notes that a good and diverse skill base is the key to raising economic growth, therefore regrets the massive under funding of education for all ages across Wales.

To propose that the Assembly resolves to adopt the following amendments to motions:

Replace “with concern” with “the contention”.

Add as new point at the end of the motion:

Recognises that, in reality, during the 1997 – 2006 period Wales achieved an economic growth rate in excess of 2% per annum in real terms, faster than under the previous 9 year period of Conservative government”.

3. Carwyn Jones (Bridgend)

Add as new point at the end of the motion:

Congratulates the firm action by the Assembly Government under the One Wales agreement to reach 80% economic activity level and to ensure a success of Convergence funding.
