NDM4823 Joyce Watson (Mid and West Wales): Small Businesses, Big Impact

NDM4820 Angela Burns (Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire)

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales, acting under Standing Order No. 1.7, elects David Melding AM, Mike Hedges AM, Peter Black AM and Jocelyn Davies AM as Trustees of the National Assembly for Wales Members’ pension scheme in place of Rosemary Butler AM, John Griffiths AM, Lord German and Lord Wigley.

The National Assembly for Wales:

1. Calls on the Welsh Government to:

a) Establish a 'National Cancer Plan'; and

b) Appoint an independent cancer co-ordinator to oversee the implementation of that 'National Cancer Plan' and to raise awareness of cancer, coordinate services and champion preventative measures.

NDM4822 Jocelyn Davies (South Wales East)

The National Assembly for Wales:

1. Regrets the 41% cut in the Welsh Government’s capital budget and its adverse impact on the construction sector; and

2. Calls on the Welsh Government to stimulate the economy by:

a) Creating an infrastructure investment fund;

b) Making use of Local Authority borrowing powers;

c) Taking action to help increase the percentage of Welsh based companies winning public procurement tenders; and

d) Looking for innovative ways of raising capital for infrastructure projects other than PFI.

NDM4824 Peter Black (South Wales West)

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

1. Calls on the Welsh Government to:

a) Establish a comprehensive person-centred Cancer Plan to:

i) set clear targets on making the best available treatment available to everybody in Wales regardless of the type of cancer they have or where they live;   

ii) develop clear plans for detecting cancer earlier in Wales.

iii) ensure holistic support is provided for those living with cancer and their families from the moment they suspect they have cancer, during and beyond treatment as well as at the end of life;

b) Establish a Cancer Drugs Fund; and

c) Develop a plan to support cancer survivors.

To propose that the Assembly resolves to adopt the following amendments to motions:

Delete point b) and replace with:

Review what support is needed at an all Wales level to support NHS Wales in tackling cancer
