The National Assembly for Wales:

Notes the report of the Health, Wellbeing and Local Government Committee on its Inquiry into Stroke Services in Wales, which was laid in the Table Office on 19 April 2010.

Note: The response by the Minister for Health and Social Services to the report was laid on 16 June  2010

The National Assembly for Wales:

Notes the Annual Report of the Committee on Standards of Conduct, which was laid in the Table Office on 25 May 2010

NDM4501 Nick Ramsay (Monmouth)

The National Assembly for Wales:

1. Notes the increase in rates of diabetes in Wales and the consequential public health challenges;

2. Recognises the role of Welsh research establishments in developing research into a possible cure for diabetes;

3. Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to conduct a review of Local Health Board provision of diabetes services;

4. Urges the Welsh Assembly Government to implement a SCI-DC type system, to help ensure that the National Service Framework for diabetes in Wales is effectively delivered.

The National Assembly for Wales:

1. Notes the concerns raised in Wales regarding the Israeli interception of the Free Gaza flotilla, and deeply regrets the loss of life resulting from this action;

2. Believes that these events must be investigated by a full, credible, impartial and independent inquiry; and

3. Notes the widespread support in Wales for UNSC resolution 1860.

Amendments tabled on 18 June 2010

To propose that the Assembly resolves to adopt the following amendments to motions:

NDM4494

Darren Millar (Clwyd West)

Add new points to end of motion:

4. Notes that much of the aid being transported by the flotilla has now been delivered to Gaza.

5. Believes that aid should be delivered via authorised routes.

6. Notes the recent easing of the shipping blockade.

NDM4501

1. Jane Hutt (Vale of Glamorgan)

Delete point 3 and replace with "Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to ensure that Local Health Boards have a clear view on what is needed to achieve the standards in the Diabetes National Service Framework by 2013 and have action plans in place".

2. Jane Hutt (Vale of Glamorgan)

In point 4 delete "implement" and replace with "explore".
