NDM3871 Sandy Mewies (Delyn): Chlamydia, the silent epidemic

NDM3872 Alun Davies (Mid and West Wales)

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

Notes the report of the Rural Development Sub-committee on the Sub-committee's Inquiry into bovine Tuberculosis laid in the Table Office on 22 January 2008.

NDM3873 William Graham (South Wales East)

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to review its policies to promote and protect communities in Wales.  

NDM3874 Kirsty Williams (Brecon and Radnorshire)

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

1. Recognises the potential for smart meters to increase energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and assist with fuel poverty; and

2. Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to:

a) Devise an effective strategy to roll out smart meters across Wales; and

b) Continue to press the UK Government to introduce a mandate as soon as possible for the installation of smart meters in every household in Wales.

To propose that the Assembly resolves to adopt the following amendments to motions:

1. William Graham (South Wales East)

Delete all after National Assembly for Wales' and replace with

Acknowledges the importance of the Police in protecting our communities and calls on the Assembly Government to support Police Forces in Wales, by petitioning the Westminster Government, for them to be fully equipped to fight all levels of criminal activities and for their pay award to be implemented in full with immediate effect.

2. William Graham (South Wales East)

Delete all after National Assembly for Wales' and replace with

Acknowledges the importance of Post Offices in protecting our communities and calls on the Assembly Government to:

1. Support a sustainable Post Office network by directing Assembly Government business via post office services.

2. Issue guidance to Local Authorities on the support they may provide to post office services.

3. William Graham (South Wales East)

Delete all after National Assembly for Wales' and replace with

Recognises the importance of schools in supporting and maintaining communities and their culture.

4. Kirsty Williams (Brecon and Radnorshire)

Add new point at end of motion:

Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to empower local communities by promoting opportunities for local people to manage local amenities.

To propose that the Assembly resolves to adopt the following amendments to motions:

Carwyn Jones (Bridgend)

Delete all after National Assembly for Wales' and replace with

Endorses the ambition set out in One Wales to rebuild the social, economic and cultural fabric of communities through a programme of practical action including support for the police, the Post Office network and community schools.  

NDM3874

Carwyn Jones (Bridgend)

Delete everything after point 1 and replace with:

2. Welcomes the piloting of Smart Meters in St Athan.

3. Following the publication of the Assembly Government’s ambitious Renewable Energy Route Map, welcomes plans to develop a National Energy Efficiency and Saving Plan this year.

4.Welcomes  the opportunities provided by the new Carbon Emission Reduction Target (CERT) to support energy efficiency improvements in Wales.
