British and Irish Lions test win against Australia

This Assembly:

Proudly congratulates the British and Irish Lions rugby team on their 2-1 test series win against Australia;

Notes the Lions' 41–16 win in the third test match against the Wallabies, leading to their first test win in over 16 years;

Acknowledges the team’s success under the leadership and management of Wales Head Coach, Warren Gatland;

Further acknowledges that a record 10 Welsh rugby players, under the captaincy of Wales’ Alun Wyn Jones, played in the third test match;

Wishes the British and Irish Lions every success in all future tournaments, including their 2017 tour of New Zealand.
