This Assembly:

notes the close relationship between Wales and Brittany;

notes the new territorial map voted on in the French Parliament reorganising the current 22 French regions to create 13 super-regions and that under these proposals the historic Breton department of Loire Atlantique is to be included in the new Pays-de-la-Loire super-region;

notes that a July 2014 poll found that 70% of Loire Atlantique residents and 75% of Brittany residents support reunification;

calls on the French government to respect the wishes of the Breton people and Brittany's unique history, language and culture and to restore its historic boundaries.
