To propose that the National Assembly for Wales, in accordance with Standing Order 10.3, elects William Graham (Conservative) as a member of the Subordinate Legislation Committee in place of David Melding (Conservative).

Item 6: Welsh Conservatives Debate

NDM4286 Alun Cairns (South Wales West)

The National Assembly for Wales:

1. Notes that up to 70% of blindness could be prevented through early detection and treatment of eye conditions.

2. Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to:

a) Support measures to help detect eye impairments in children.

b) Provide regular updates on the progress in reducing incidents of glaucoma.

c) Recognise the role of optometrists in the development of good eye care in the primary sector.
