To ask the Minister for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills

Kirsty Williams (Brecon and Radnorshire): Will the Minister consider reforming the eligibility criteria for EMA’s in order to allow children who have been advanced one school year or more, but who are studying at Further Education Level, to receive the EMA as those who are 16 or older do. To ask the Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing

Darren Millar (Clwyd West): Will the Minister publish copies of any correspondence (including emails) between the Welsh Assembly Government and the UK Government regarding the devolution of building regulations to Wales. (WAQ51452)

Darren Millar (Clwyd West): Will the Minister publish copies of any correspondence (including emails) between the Welsh Assembly Government and the UK Government regarding the devolution of power stations with a generating capacity in excess of 50 MW to Wales. (WAQ51453)

To ask the Minister for Health and Social Services

Darren Millar (Clwyd West): Will the Minister provide an update and advise on the timescale for a decision on the future of Abergele Hospital. (WAQ51455)

Darren Millar (Clwyd West): Will the Minister provide an update and advise on the timescale regarding the review of neurosurgery services in Wales. (WAQ51456)

Jeff Cuthbert (Caerphilly): In the context of understanding the future definition of what has been called the 'truly lay', will the Minister indicate (a) what representations have been made to the Department of Health, the English NHS Appointments Commission and the CHRE regarding the criteria to be used in the future appointment of Welsh representatives on health professional regulatory bodies and the CHRE; (b) how she will ensure that Welsh lay members on health professional regulatory bodies and the CHRE have direct experience in patient/health consumer groups and service users; and (c) will she use Wales NHS appointments machinery  in making such future appointments. Jeff Cuthbert (Caerphilly): Will the Minister detail,(i) what resources she has made available to support public and patient engagement in professional health regulation in Wales, (ii) will this be sufficiently to cut through the often complex technical jargon and enable Welsh participants to be informed and articulate policies in tune with Welsh needs and (iii) the future role of CHCs in respect of patient engagement in professional health regulation in Wales. Jeff Cuthbert (Caerphilly): What representations has the Minister made, or will the Minister make, to other UK governments, about how the CHRE and health professional regulators can be meaningfully held to account by the UK Parliament beyond the production of annual reports, financial statements and annual meetings. For example, in agreeing their strategic plans through standing committees of the UK Parliament, the Health and Social Services Committee of the National Assembly for Wales, alongside an advisory role for the CHC Board in Wales. Jeff Cuthbert (Caerphilly): In the light of the declaration in the White Paper "Trust, Assurance and Safety" that the overriding interest of statutory professional regulation should be the safety and quality of care that patients receive what steps is the Minister taking to ensure that full and proper weight is given to the views of patient and public groups and their representatives in relation to relevant aspects of the Health and Social Care Bill and the Health Care and Associated Professions (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2008.
