Questions to the First Minister
Brynle Williams (North Wales): Will the First Minister provide details of how much the Welsh Assembly Government has spent on marketing and advertising, excluding job advertisements, in each year since 1999? (WAQ53870)
The First Minister (Rhodri Morgan): This is a matter for the Permanent Secretary and I have asked her to write to you.
Questions to the Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing
Irene James (Islwyn): How many households in Islwyn have received HEES funding? (WAQ53869)
The Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing (Jane Davidson): Since HEES was introduced in 2000, the scheme has assisted 3,378 households in Islwyn at a total cost of £3,106,821.
A breakdown of the assistance provided is set out below:
Households that have received a Heating measure: 1,068
Households that have received an Insulation measure: 2,255
Number of completed Benefit Entitlement Checks (BEC): 371
Darren Millar (Clwyd West): Will the Minister give an update on the progress of the Environmental Protection and Waste Management LCO including any discussions the Minister or her officials have had with UK Ministers and their officials? (WAQ53881)
Jane Davidson: We are continuing to work closely with UK Ministers and their officials regarding the Environment LCO. This LCO is particularly complex and it is essential that we get the scope of the LCO right and ensure that the extent of the Assembly’s competence is clear. However, as previously stated it is not the Assembly Government’s policy to comment on the detail of negotiations.
Questions to the Minister for Health and Social Services
Kirsty Williams (Brecon and Radnorshire): Will the Minister make a statement on what steps she is taking to improve stroke services in Powys? (WAQ53879)
The Minister for Health and Social Services (Edwina Hart): Powys Local Health Board has long recognised that the development of stroke services is a priority. Whilst the LHB does not provide acute or hyper-acute stroke care, it aspires to provide specialist rehabilitation services for medically stable patients in Powys hospitals. A plan is in place to develop and implement a specialist stroke service. A local steering group and service review process has been established. The central funding allocated to Powys for 2008-09 is being used to establish a consultant therapist/nurse to lead a specialist stroke service team and provide expertise in rehabilitation.
