Questions to the Minister for the Economy and Transport

Kirsty Williams (Brecon and Radnorshire): Will the Minister make a statement on the representations the Welsh Assembly Government will make to the DTI on delaying the first MOT test vehicles have by a year? (WAQ50003) The Minister for the Economy and Transport (Brian Gibbons): I understand that the Department for Transport will shortly launch a public consultation on whether the UK should move away from its current pattern of MOT testing. Those with an interest will be able to comment on whether or not the EU minimum frequency of testing would be more appropriate for the UK, and to provide any evidence to support their views.

Questions to the Minister for Health and Social Services

Jonathan Morgan (Cardiff North): What plans does the Minister have to make use of the new Assembly measures procedure? (WAQ50002) The Minister for Health and Social Services (Edwina Hart): The First Minister announced on 6 June a proposed Assembly Measure to give greater rights to patients through a NHS Redress Measure. This will simplify public access to redress from the NHS and establish new rights, processes and outcomes for patients.
