To ask the Minister for Health and Social Services

Kirsty Williams (Brecon and Radnorshire): Will the Minister make a statement on the expenditure of the intermediate care fund on projects in Powys? (WAQ68765)

Answer received on 16 June 2015

The Minister for Health and Social Services (Mark Drakeford):

The Mid and West Wales regional collaborative partnership received £8.4m from the Intermediate Care Fund in 2014-15. More than £2.2m of this was used to fund projects in Powys, providing services, care and support for older people to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and delayed discharges.

The Intermediate Care Fund was set up to to drive collaboration and partnership working between health, social care, housing and the third and independent sectors. I have announced funding of £20m for this financial year; the Mid and West Wales regional collaborative partnership will receive £3.76m.
