To ask the Minister for the Economy, Science and Transport

Russell George (Montgomeryshire): Further to the answer to question WAQ68423, will the Minister confirm whether the Welsh Government has written to residents and businesses who have already been identified to be outside the scope of the Superfast Cymru project to inform them that they will not benefit from the current rollout? (WAQ68464)

Answer received on 17 March 2015

The Deputy Minister for Skills and Technology (Julie James): The Welsh Government has not written to all 45,000 homes and businesses involved. Information about the infill project, including a list of all of the postcodes involved, is available on the Welsh Government website. The premises will not be at a disadvantage as access will be provided in the same timeframe as the Superfast Cymru project.

Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central): Will the Minister confirm that all costs for the five-mile lane on the M4 will be covered by the Welsh Government and that there are no implications for the Vale of Glamorgan Council? (WAQ68465)

Answer received on 13 March 2015

The Minister for Economy, Science and Transport (Edwina Hart): We are currently in discussion with the Vale of Glamorgan Council regarding a grant offer to cover the costs of these works.

Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central): Will the Minister provide an updated statement on what progress has been made with the options for the five-mile lane on the M4 including when the preferred route will be awarded to a contractor? (WAQ68466)

Answer received on 13 March 2015

Edwina Hart: The Vale of Glamorgan Council is preparing a planning application for a preferred route. It is hoped that a contractor will be appointed before the end of the year.
