To ask the Minister for Health and Social Services

Kirsty Williams (Brecon and Radnorshire): Which hospitals in Wales operate e-rostering systems to aid workforce planning? (WAQ67204)

Answer received on 17 June 2014

The Minister for Health and Social Services (Mark Drakeford): Information received from Local Health Boards and Trusts in January 2014 showed that E-rostering systems have been implemented incrementally across NHS Wales from 1999.

The information was received collectively for all hospitals within each LHB/ Trust with the exception of ABM UHB.

E-rostering systems are not utilised currently within Powys Teaching Health Board and Velindre NHS Trust due to the relatively small size of the workforce.

Information received from LHBs and Trusts show that to date, the majority of Nursing staff, Allied Health Professionals, Bank and Administrative and Clerical staff have been rostered using E-Rostering. ABUHB and BCUHB have recently started implementation of E-Rostering to Medical and Dental staff group.
