Questions to the Minister for the Economy and Transport

Nick Bourne (Mid and West Wales): Does the Minister have any plans to review the speed limit on the A487 between Comins Coch Junction and Bow Street in Ceredigion? (WAQ50047)

The Minister for the Economy and Transport (Brian Gibbons): There are no current plans to review the speed limit on the A487 between Comins Coch junction and Bow Street. However, to the south west of Comins Coch, Transport Wales are proposing to amend the speed limit by extending the exiting 40 mph limit in a northeasterly direction along the A487, to include the Maeshendre (Lon Llewellyn) junction.

Nick Bourne (Mid and West Wales): Will the Minister publish details of the number of road traffic accidents on the A487 between Chancery and Llanfarian in Ceredigion for the last 5 years? (WAQ50048)

Brian Gibbons: There have been fifteen personal injury accidents on the A487 between the Conrah County Hotel & Motel, Chancery and the junction of the A485, Llanfarian for the latest five year period for which accident data is available. This period is between 1st March 2002 and 28th February 2007. Of the fifteen accidents three were classed as serious and twelve as slight. Details of non-injury accidents are not recorded.

Brian Gibbons: There have been sixteen personal injury accidents on the A487 between the Comins Coch junction and the Clarech Road junction Bow Street for the latest five year period for which accident data is available. This period is between 1st March 2002 and 28th February 2007. Of the sixteen accidents five were classed as serious and eleven as slight. Details of non-injury accidents are not recorded.
