To ask the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Well-being and Sport
Janet Finch-Saunders (Aberconwy): Does the Cabinet Secretary have any plans to increase provision for elective surgery in north Wales, with a view to reducing waiting list times? (WAQ74429)
Answer received on 24 October 2017
Cabinet Secretary for Health, Well-being and Sport (Vaughan Gething): Betsi Cadwaladr UHB will be receiving its share of the £50 million announced in August 2017. For this, it plans to reduce the numbers waiting over 36 weeks by the end of March 2018 using a mixture of insourcing and additional internal activity and outsourcing to other providers. I expect to see material improvements in the numbers waiting over this time.
