Alun Cairns (South Wales West): Will the Minister make a statement on the proposed timing and any pre-conditions of the Northern Access Road linked with the proposed Defence College and/or Aerospace Park in St Athan. (WAQ56116)

In line with planning conditions, construction of the proposed Northern Access Road for the St Athan Development Scheme will not begin until the Ministry of Defence and Metrix have reached Financial Close, currently timetabled for the end of this year.

Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central): Further to the Minister’s answer to WAQ55142, how many Local Health Boards are now complying with the Working Time Directive. (WAQ56111)

With the exception of Cardiff and Vale Health Board all Boards are reporting compliance with the Waiting Times Directive.

Progress against the recommendations within the Welsh Audit Office report has been made across the breadth of maternity services.

Local Health Boards are refining their development plans to improve maternity, paediatrics and neonatal services.

Action is being taken to increase the number of review panels, to increase the number of staff engaged in reviewing medical histories, to improve administrative practice, to identify more quickly cases which are clearly in or out of scope, to provide better written information and to strengthen performance management arrangements.  

Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central): How many and what proportion of GP practices will be offering the MHOL (My Health On Line) service to their patients once the scheme has been fully rolled out. (WAQ56114)

When My Health Online is available its roll out will depend on how quickly each GP practice wants to make it available to patients.   The website will allow patients to, order repeat prescriptions and book GP appointments.  Other features of the site will include advice and information to help patients manage health conditions.

Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central): Will the Minister confirm that it remains her intention to launch the Mental Health Promotion Action Plan before the end of 2010. (WAQ56115)

A commitment to launching the Mental Health Promotion Action Plan is included in Our Healthy Future, the Welsh Assembly Government’s Public Health Strategic Framework.

I refer to the Business Minister’s response on 8 June to your question to the First Minister (OAQ (3)2922(FM)). A notice inviting expressions of interest to undertake an independent review of respite care in Wales was posted on the Buy4Wales site on 8 September 2009, invitations to tender were sent to short-listed organisations on 26 November 2009 and the contract was awarded to LE Wales on 10 February 2010.
