Personal history
Born in Caerphilly and brought
up in Ystrad Mynach, Delyth went to school in Bargoed, before going on to study
in the University of Oxford. After graduating, Delyth worked as a researcher
and speechwriter in Westminster, and in 2014 was awarded the ‘Overall Researcher
of the Year Award’ for her work in paving the ground for legislation on
stalking and coercive control. She later
went to work for Citizens Advice and Action Aid.
Political history
Delyth first entered the Senedd
in 2019, following the tragic death of Steffan Lewis. She was made her party’s
spokesperson on Brexit and External Affairs.
In 2021, Delyth was re-elected to the Senedd and was made her party’s
spokesperson on climate change and transport.
From 2021-2026, Delyth was Chair of the Senedd’s Committee on Culture,
Communications, Welsh Language, Sport and International Relations. In 2026, Delyth was re-elected to the Senedd,
and was appointed Deputy Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Women’s
Health in the new Welsh Government.
