Key Interests and achievements
Kerry has a longstanding commitment to community
development, education and supporting local businesses. Before being elected to
the Senedd, she served as an Aberystwyth Town Councillor from 2021 and was
Mayor of Aberystwyth in 2023–24. She has also been actively involved in a range
of voluntary and community organisations, including Menter Aberystwyth, where
she helped deliver town-wide events and regeneration projects, and as Co-Chair
of Aberystwyth Business Club between 2022 and 2025. Kerry served as Llywydd of
Ardal Aberystwyth Rotary during 2023–24, supporting charitable fundraising and
community initiatives across Aberystwyth and the area. She was also a school
governor at Ysgol Penglais and Ysgol Plascrug.
Personal history
Born in Denbighshire, Kerry spent her early childhood in
Betws Gwerfil Goch before moving to Cerrigydrudion. Kerry attended Ysgol
Cerrigydrudion, and then Ysgol Brynhyfryd in Ruthin. Kerry moved to Aberystwyth
to study at Aberystwyth University in 2007, graduating with a BSc in
Environmental Earth Science before completing an MSc in Environmental
Monitoring and Analysis. Having made Ceredigion her home, she has been actively
involved in local community life for many years and is passionate about supporting
the communities and businesses that contribute to the area's success.
Professional background
Before entering the Senedd, Kerry was the founder of a
bilingual website design and digital marketing company established in 2013 in
Aberystwyth. Under her leadership, the business grew into an award-winning
company supporting organisations and businesses across Wales and beyond. In
2024, Kerry became involved in the ownership and development of a local brewery
business. Alongside her business career, she worked as a tutor within the
Lifelong Learning Department at Aberystwyth University between 2022 and 2024, a
mentor with Business Wales, and Role Model with Big Ideas Wales. Kerry's
professional experience spans entrepreneurship, digital technology, marketing,
business development, education and community leadership.
Political history
Kerry was elected as an Aberystwyth Town Councillor in 2021
and served as Mayor of Aberystwyth in 2023–24. In May 2026, she was elected as
a Member of the Senedd, representing Ceredigion Penfro.
Other
Kerry is a keen birdwatcher and wildlife photographer and
enjoys gardening, reading and singing in a choir. She is passionate about
environmental conservation, community volunteering and supporting Welsh culture
and local enterprise.
