Assembly of Communities at Aberystwyth and Ceredigion County Show

9 June 2011

The National Assembly for Wales will kick off its Assembly of Communities theme at the Aberystwyth and Ceredigion County Show on Saturday (11 June).

Staff will be on hand to find out what issues within the Assembly’s devolved fields are important to visitors.

Workshops and other activities will also take place informing people who their new Assembly Members are and showing them how to influence the Assembly’s business.

“The ‘yes’ vote in the March referendum means that more of the decisions affecting the people of Wales are made here in Wales,” said Presiding Officer, Rosemary Butler AM.

“Therefore it’s more important than ever for those decisions to be made with the knowledge and opinions of Welsh people.”

“That is why we have made Assembly of Communities a key theme of the new Assembly and I would urge any visitors to the Aberystwyth and Ceredigion County Show to go along and find out how they are represented and how they can get involved.”
