Their Majesties The King and Queen will attend the Ceremonial Opening of the Seventh Senedd on Thursday 15 October.
The event will bring together people and communities from across Wales, with musical performances at the heart of a ceremony celebrating the nation’s culture and democratic future.
During the ceremonial opening of the Senedd, His Majesty The King will make a speech in the Senedd’s Siambr, the debating chamber, as will the Llywydd of the Senedd, Huw Irranca-Davies MS, and First Minister, Rhun ap Iorwerth MS.
It will mark a pivotal moment in the Senedd’s history: the opening of its most representative parliament yet, with 96 Members bringing a wider range of lived experience to its work and strengthening its capacity to scrutinise the Welsh Government.
Their Majesties are expected at Cardiff Bay around lunchtime on Thursday 15 October. People are welcome to gather outside the Senedd to watch and be part of this special event.
