Primary school pupils from across Wales have decorated Christmas trees that will be displayed on the Assembly’s estate during the festive period.

The pupils from Conwy, Powys, Cardiff, Swansea and Caerphilly were given the theme What does Christmas Mean to You and asked to hand-make the decorations.

Four of the schools also received a tour of the Senedd and met with the Presiding Officer, Rosemary Butler AM, who said: “I was delighted to welcome the pupils from different areas of Wales to put their own stamp on our Christmas celebrations here at the Senedd.

“It is wonderful for young children to come to the Senedd, the home of decision-making in Wales, and add a little festivity to this iconic building.

“Trees decorated by the pupils will be on display on the Assembly estate, so Assembly Members and the wider public will all enjoy their hard work.”
