The Auditor General for Wales is the independent statutory external auditor of the devolved Welsh public sector.
The Wales Audit Office (WAO) is a corporate body consisting of a nine-member statutory Board which employs staff and provides other resources to the Auditor General for Wales, who is also the Board’s Chief Executive and Accounting Officer. The Board monitors and advises the Auditor General, regarding the exercise of his functions.
Together, the Auditor General and the Wales Audit Office operate under the umbrella identity of Audit Wales.
The Senedd is seeking to appoint to the following vacancies for Non-Executive Members of the Wales Audit Office Board to commence on 1 June 2024 and 17 October 2024:
- Two Non-Executive Members (£12,500 per annum, non-pensionable, 2-3 days per month)
