NDM4430 Jeff Cuthbert (Caerphilly): Engineering our Future

NDM4428 Alun Cairns (South Wales West)

The National Assembly for Wales:

Expresses concern about the lack of accountability and transparency in the running of the Welsh National Health Service.

NDM4429 Alun Cairns (South Wales West)

The National Assembly for Wales:

1. Recognises the importance of early diagnosis of dementia.

2. Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to take measures to meet the growing demand for dementia care across Wales.

3. Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to publish their National Dementia Plan for Wales as soon as possible.

NDM4431 Peter Black (South Wales West)

The National Assembly for Wales:

1. Notes the Welsh Assembly Government’s commitment to ensure that the 'supply of affordable housing increases by at least 6,500' before 2011.

2. Believes that increased supply means that there should be 6,500 more affordable homes in Wales by 2011 compared to 2007.

3. Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to take urgent action to maximise the number of affordable homes being provided in order to increase the chance of reaching this target.

To propose that the Assembly resolves to adopt the following amendments to motions:

NDM4428

Peter Black (South Wales West)

Add as new point at end of motion:

Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to revise its decision not to investigate the claim that up to a fifth of the health budget was not being spent effectively.

NDM4429

1. Jane Hutt (Vale of Glamorgan)

Delete points 2 and 3 and replace with:

2. Notes that the Welsh Assembly Government is taking measures to meet the growing demand for dementia care across Wales.

3. Recognises that the National Dementia Plan for Wales is being taken forward by a group including representatives from the NHS, Local Government and The Third Sector.

Add as new point at end of motion:

Regrets the threats to the service for young-onset dementia at Oldwell Court in Cardiff.

3. Peter Black (Mid and West Wales)

Add as new point at end of motion:

Regrets the limited number of psychologists and other mental health professionals available to support dementia services.

1. Jane Hutt (Vale of Glamorgan)

Delete all and replace with:

The National Assembly for Wales:

1. Notes the Welsh Assembly Government's commitment to ensure that the supply of affordable housing increases by at least 6,500 within this government term.

2. Welcomes the progress made in achieving this with 4235 additional affordable housing units across Wales delivered by December 2009.

3. Believes that the Welsh Assembly Government is therefore on target to meet its commitment.

Add new point at end of motion:

Recognises the need for a National Housing Recovery Plan to tackle the lack of affordable housing in Wales.
