Trade Union Rights in Zimbabwe

This Assembly condemns the Zimbabwean Government's failure to adhere to its international obligation under the International Labour Organisation's Declaration of Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, to protect the rights of trade unionists to conduct organising activities; expresses its deep concern for the safety of three trade union leaders, currently being held in Zimbabwean gaols; calls on Welsh trade unionists to make representations to the Zimbabwean Embassy in London; and urges Assembly Government Ministers to make representations to the Foreign Office, to remind the Zimbabwean Government of its obligations under ILO Convention 98 and Convention 87 to observe workers' rights.
