Close the Gap in Educational Attainment for Deaf Children

This Assembly:

  • Highlights that in 2008, deaf pupils were 30% less likely to achieve 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C than their hearing peers;

  • Finds this gap in attainment unacceptable;

  • Commits to close the gap in attainment by improving educational and support services available to deaf children and young people in Wales.
