UK Government's Consultation on Disability Living Allowance Reform

This Assembly:

Notes the UK Government's consultation on Disability Living Allowance Reform, and proposals announced in the UK Spending Review to reduce the DLA budget by £1bn a year by 2014/15.

Recognises organisations representing people with sight loss in Wales have expressed concerns about changes to DLA and the impact they may have on the most vulnerable people

Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to raise with the UK Government the impact these proposals could have on blind and partially sighted people in Wales, and ensure policy proposals meets the Westminster government's objectives of fairness and protecting the most vulnerable.
