Convention for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women

This Assembly:

Welcomes the work of WEN Wales to raise awareness of the Convention for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

Recognises that national institutions must take action to prevent discrimination against women and ensure equal opportunities.

Calls on the Welsh Government to:

• adhere to the principles of the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women; and

• appoint a Women’s Commissioner to ensure that action is taken to reduce discrimination against women.
