Recognising the Value of Written Assembly Questions

The National Assembly for Wales:

Recognises the value of Written Assembly Questions as a tool for scrutiny, improving the transparency and accountability of Welsh Governance.

Notes with concern that a failure to respond appropriately to the substance and spirit of a Written Question has the potential to undermine public confidence in the openness of Welsh Government and bring the process into disrepute and;

Calls on Welsh Government Ministers to respect the system of Written Assembly Questions and to endeavour to provide prompt, open and substantive answers wherever possible.
