Repeal of the Bedroom Tax

This Assembly:

Notes that many tenants have been paying the bedroom-tax although exempt;

Expresses concern that the number of people affected in Wales is likely to exceed 3000;

Expresses concern that local authorities will incur significant costs for readapting homes;

Believes that the bedroom tax is a grave error, leads to significant hardship and is financially unsound; and

Adds its voice to Shelter Cymru, the Church in Wales and others in urging the UK Minister to scrap the tax.
