That the National Assembly for Wales in accordance with Standing Orders 35.6 and 35.8:


Suspends Standing Order 7.18 (i) and that part of Standing Order 6.10 that requires the weekly announcement under Standing Order 6.3 to constitute the timetable for business in Plenary for the following week, to allow the motion under Item 7 to be considered in Plenary on Tuesday 23 February 2010.

The motion was agreed, in accordance with Standing Order 7.35.

Suspends Standing Order 7.18 (i) and that part of Standing Order 6.10 that requires the weekly announcement under Standing Order 6.3 to constitute the timetable for business in Plenary for the following week, to allow the motion under Item 8 to be considered in Plenary on Tuesday 23 February 2010.

Item 9: Debate on Deep Rural Areas  - Postponed until Tuesday, 2 March 2010

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

1. Notes the Deep Rural Localities Report; and

2. Endorses the proposed approach to taking forward the 'One Wales' commitment to deep rural areas as outlined in the Written Statement made by the Minister for Rural Affairs on 15 December 2009.

The following amendments have been tabled:

Amendment 1 - Alun Cairns (South Wales West)

In point 2 change "Endorses” to "Notes”.

Amendment 2 - Alun Cairns (South Wales West)

Add as new point to end of the motion:

"Recognises the damaging impact on rural communities of the continued closures of rural post offices and pubs."

Amendment 3 - Alun Cairns (South Wales West)

Add as new point to end of the motion:

"Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to commit to sustained long-term work to improve the delivery of public services in rural areas.”

Item 10: Debate on Sustainable Development Indicators  -Postponed until Tuesday, 2 March 2010

The National Assembly for Wales welcomes the progress made towards Wales becoming a more sustainable nation, shown by the Welsh Assembly Government's Sustainable Development Indicators.

The following amendments have been tabled:

Amendment 1 - Peter Black (South Wales West)

Delete, "welcomes the progress made towards Wales becoming a more sustainable nation” and replace with "regrets that the Welsh Assembly Government has only made progress in 18 out of 41 possible indicator assessments as”.

Amendment 2- Alun Cairns (South Wales West)

Add as new point to end of the motion:

"Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to re-examine their approach to making Wales a more sustainable nation. "

Amendment 3 - Alun Cairns (South Wales West)

Add as new point to end of the motion:

"Regrets that less than half of the indicators show a clear improvement.”
