To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

1. Supports the development of the School Effectiveness Framework.

2. Welcomes the commencement of pilot schemes in schools from September of this year.

The following amendments were tabled:

Amendment 1 - Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central)
Replace "Supports”’ with "Notes”’.

Amendment 2 - Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central)
Replace "welcomes”’ with "Expresses concern about the level of funding available for”

Amendment  3 - Kirsty Williams (Brecon and Radnorshire)
Add as new point at end of motion:

"Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to ensure that the delivery of the School Effectiveness Framework supports and encourages schools to improve their attainment levels.”

Amendment 4 - Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central)
Add new point at end of motion:

"Expresses concern at the increase in teachers’ workloads, resulting from these proposals.”

Amendment 5 - Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central)
Add new point at end of motion:

"Calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to create a school environment where teachers have the freedom to exercise their professional judgement.
