To ask the Minister for Health and Social Services

The Minister for Health and Social Services (Mark Drakeford):

The Deputy Minister for Health met the chair of the Welsh branch of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine on 16 July

Patients are not admitted to accident and emergency departments.

Decisions about whether to admit patients to hospital are made by clinicians who are best placed to decide on the best course of action to optimise outcomes for patients on a case-by-case basis.
