The Standards of Conduct Committee wants your views on new guidance that will help shape how a recall system for Members of the Senedd works in practice.

What kinds of behaviour should result in a Member of the Senedd losing their seat?

The Senedd is introducing a process known as recall. Recall allows voters to decide whether a Member of the Senedd should remain in office if they have committed serious misconduct.

Before the Standards of Conduct Committee can recommend that a Member should face recall, it must develop guidance setting out what it would take into account when making that decision.

The Committee wants your views before drafting that guidance.

It would like to hear:

  • What types of behaviour should be serious enough for recall to be considered?
  • What factors should be taken into account when making that decision?
  • How the process can be fair, transparent, and easy to understand

Whether you have a professional interest in standards and accountability, or simply want to share your views as a member of the public, the Committee wants to hear from you.
