Audit Committee to discuss mental health services for adults

12 January 2006

The Assembly’s Audit Committee is to hear evidence from two government health chiefs in relation to a report highlighting problems with adult mental health services in Wales.

The Auditor General for Wales, Jeremy Colman, found that adult mental health services would fail to meet Assembly Government targets unless improvements were made. The Committee will hear evidence from Ann Lloyd, the Assembly Government’s head of health and social care, and Philip Chick, Assembly Government mental health policy adviser, at a meeting on Thursday January 12. At the same meeting, Members will hear the Assembly Government’s response to previous Committee reports, including one on the collapse of the North Wales enterprise agency Antur Dwyryd Llyn. The meeting takes place at 1.30pm in Committee Rooms 3 and 4, Cardiff Bay. Full details and an Agenda
