Audit Committee to quiz Assembly Officials on Senedd project.
The Assembly’s Audit Committee will quiz senior officials from the National Assembly for Wales on the building of the Senedd at its next meeting on Thursday June 19th.
A Wales Audit Office report published earlier this year found that the building was delivered broadly to time, cost and quality but that completion of the Senedd was six months later than planned, mainly because of delays in finalising the Information and Communications Technology specification.
The Committee will question Claire Clancy Chief Executive and Clerk to the Assembly; Dianne Bevan, Chief Operating Officer, National Assembly for Wales; David Richards, Head of Governance in Health Project; and Richard Wilson, Construction Programme Director about the findings of the report.
Chair of the Audit Committee David Melding AM said: “The Senedd is now an iconic building in Wales and is serving the Assembly well as a home. However it is important that we examine all aspects of the building project to ensure that any issues are identified and lessons are learnt for any future building projects. “
The meeting takes place in Committee Room 3, Senedd, Cardiff Bay, at 9:30am on Thursday June 19.
