Brand new innovative building home to the National Assembly at the Urdd Eisteddfod

The National Assembly for Wales will have a brand new innovative building at this year’s Urdd Eisteddfod in Llandudno with a unique inflatable stand. This is the first time the exciting new design has been used at the Eisteddfod and it will ensure the Assembly will stand out from the crowd.

This year’s activities are all about engagement reflecting the changes to the National Assembly for Wales’ work following the Government of Wales Act 2006. Our mission is to provide members of the public with information not only explaining the Assembly’s new powers but perhaps more importantly, how they will affect the lives of Welsh people.

There will be opportunities for visitors to have their say on proposals to promote healthy eating in schools, and on presumed consent for organ donation. If you want to have your say, visit the video booth to leave your comments, opinion and thoughts. Children will also be invited to draw the Wales they would like to see in the future in the ‘My Wales’ competition and take part in drama workshops and other activities and games.

The Assembly’s Presiding Officer, Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas AM said: “The Urdd Eisteddfod marks the start of our Summer events season and I am delighted that we will have a brand new, innovative building in which to welcome visitors. The Urdd Eisteddfod in particular provides the ideal opportunity for us to engage with the young people of Wales and I look forward to seeing many of them at the Assembly stand to find out, join in and talk back..”
