Chair of the Public Accounts Committee welcomes public consultation on Draft Audit Bill

The Chair of the National Assembly for Wales’s Public Accounts Committee, Darren Millar AM, has issued the following statement in response to the Welsh Government’s announcement on its Draft Audit Bill.

The consultation seeks responses to the bill which will aim to reform public audit arrangements in Wales.

On behalf of the Public Accounts Committee I welcome the fact that the Government has published the Draft Public Audit (Wales) Bill and launched its consultation on the Bill,” Mr Millar said.

“The Committee is keen to ensure that there is proper governance and accountability for the Wales Audit Office and the Auditor General for Wales and they look forward to hearing the views of the public and stakeholders in due course.”
