Come and quiz AMs at the National Eisteddfod

Welsh Learners at the National Assembly for Wales stand at the National Eisteddfod in Mold next week will have an opportunity to put Assembly Members on the spot in a special Question Time event on Thursday August 9th at 2.00pm. A cross party group of AMs chaired by the Assembly’s Presiding Officer Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas AM, will answer questions that have been submitted during the week at the National Assembly’s stand as well as questions asked during the session. The panel includes John Griffiths, Labour AM for Newport and Deputy Minister for Skills, Plaid Cymru AM for Llanelli, Helen Mary Jones, Eleanor Burnham Liberal Democrat AM for North Wales and Clwyd West AM Darren Millar, who will represent the Conservatives. As Darren has only just started learning Welsh he will be ably assisted by Brynle Williams AM for North Wales. Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas AM said “The Assembly is at the heart of encouraging Wales to be a fully bilingual country and encouraging people to learn Welsh is an important part of this. It is very important that Welsh learners have the opportunity to see other learners using the language as part of their every day life. The fact that Assembly Members do this publicly make them ideal role models therefore I am proud to be a part of this important event.”
