Culture Committee to take evidence on merger of Welsh Language Board

The Assembly’s Culture Committee will be taking more evidence for its review of English newspapers in Wales at its next meeting. Keith Dye, managing director of the Western Mail and Echo, and Alan Edmunds, Western Mail editor, will be addressing the meeting, as will Gavin Steacy, Chief Executive, Newsquest Wales and Gloucestershire (Newsquest publishes the South Wales Argus and a number of weekly newspapers in Wales). At the same meeting, Meri Huws and Meirion Prys Jones, Chair and chief executive of  the Welsh Language Board, will be giving evidence to the Committee about the transfer of the board’s responsibilities to the Assembly Government.
