Equality of Opportunity Committee to discuss services for Gypsies and Travellers

The National Assembly’s Equality of Opportunity Committee will receive an update from the Welsh Assembly Government on Service Provision for Gypsies and Travellers in Wales at its next meeting on Wednesday January 24th. The Committee’s report, published in 2003 contained a number of recommendations for the Welsh Assembly Government and members will now consider the progress made in implementing these recommendations. Members will also consider the Committee’s relationship with the Commission for Equality and Human Rights and the progress made by the Welsh Assembly Government in implementing its Childcare Strategy. Also on the agenda are updates on Welsh Assembly Government policies, programmes and initiatives for asylum seekers and refugees and on proposals for the Census 2011 The meeting takes place in Committee Room 3, the Senedd from 9.30am until 12.30pm.
