The National Assembly is, once again, among the top family friendly employers in the UK, according to the work-life balance charity Working Families.

Employers large and small from across the public, private, and third sectors compete annually to gain a coveted place on the charity's list of Top Employers for Working Families.

The announcement coincides with Working Families' National Work Life Week campaign, which the National Assembly for Wales celebrates each year to demonstrate its commitment, and support their employees, to achieve a work life balance.

Employers answer in-depth questions and are scored on four key areas to build a comprehensive picture of their flexible and family friendly working environment.

Chief Executive and Clerk to the National Assembly, Manon Antoniazzi said:

"Work plays a significant part in all our lives and it is no easy task to achieve work-life balance in today's unpredictable and fast-paced world of work.  I am so proud that the National Assembly has maintained its position as a leader for its family friendly practices.

"This award confirms what a great place the Assembly is to work, and to be recognised for our positive and inclusive environment is an excellent reflection of the passion and pride shown by our people at all levels to achieve the aspiration of being an exemplar employer.

"We will continue to support our employees in balancing their lives, developing their careers and providing outstanding service to Assembly Members representing the people of Wales."

Lowri Williams, Senior Champion of Teulu, the Assembly's Parent and Carer Network, said:

"Our employees are committed to the work of the Assembly, and equally have commitments outside. They are parents, carers, siblings, pet owners and members of their community.

"Maintaining a positive work-life balance is important for their health and relationships, and mutual respect for each other, balancing the important work that our employees are passionate about delivering with their equally important lives outside of work, means we can deliver a great place to work without compromising on the delivery of excellent services.

"We strive to provide the support to allow our employees to find the perfect balance between work and home, so we have high performing and engaged people committed to the work we do."

Jane van Zyl, Chief Executive of Working Families, said:

"We are delighted to recognise the 30 outstanding organisations that made our Top Employers for Working Families list this year.

"These employers excelled in our rigorous benchmarking process, proving they are leading the way in building family-friendly and flexible workplaces. Crucially, they are not just putting policies in place—they are building cultures that support their employees' wellbeing."
