Good luck message to Welsh rugby team

Presiding Officer Rosemary Butler has, on behalf of all Assembly Members and staff, issued a good luck message to the Welsh rugby squad ahead of their opening World Cup match on Sunday (11 September).

Wales will kick-off their World Cup campaign in Wellington, against the reigning world champions South Africa.

“On behalf of all Assembly Members and staff, I would like to wish everyone in the Welsh squad the best of luck as they begin their World Cup journey in New Zealand,” said Mrs Butler.

“Many of us will be getting up early on Sunday morning to cheer the team on as they face the challenge from the Springboks.

“So the message is that we are all keeping our fingers crossed for the winning start, and successful tournament, that everyone involved in the Welsh squad has worked so hard towards achieving.”
